Start The New Year With Big Snow

Cheers to 2026! Happy New Year!
We barely got back into the groove of school and basketball and we get crazy weather! Ice and snow and school no more! 6 Days of No School and counting! It's getting a little frustrating! I don't know how people deal with this type of weather  in other places! You gotta make the most of it or you will go crazy! Having all the kids home is something to soak up. We even had a day with no electricity... all the fridge food to the cooler and on the porch and fires galore to keep warm. Luckily we got ours back and just dealing with all the ice and frozen yard. Prayers for so many who are without power and even worse dealing with snow accidents. My heart breaks for these families... kids just having fun and some type of tragedy happens to their family. I cannot believe the whole last week of January was spent snowed in at home....but then again.... that is my favorite place to be....Home.

Advent For Ansley

I am putting these pictures and thoughts here so I have it in our book so that we may all never forget this Christmas season. When God puts an idea on your heart... if you listen... it's an absolute miracle on earth of watching HIM work through his people. Absolutely one of the best things I have ever been a part of in my entire life.  A year ago we lost our sweet Ansley the morning after Christmas. This past year has been obviously a time of great grief for her family. Thinking about them facing the 1st Christmas without her... the anniversary of her passing... well it's just soul crushing. This is a time of year that most people are joyful and the season is full of happiness and giving. This giving that our entire family and quite a few others did exactly what God intended. I don't think we were all prepared for the amount of joy we would receive from these daily gifts to them. I cannot put it all into words... but looking back at the text threads and the pictures of our "daily drops" just brings tears to my eyes. The fact that we maintained our secrecy and were able to pull off a huge reveal. None of us wanted it to be over. Even Keith and Hannah didn't want to know who. Addie & Aubrey were so into the daily surprises and often looked for that particular day and where it might be revealed. So many people were kind enough to make deliveries in costume or people that they didn't know but knew what was going on were happy to make a drop. Nothing seemed impossible to pull off. It was an absolute blast and I never want to forget it. I know it meant the world to them too and helped them survive the month that they were so deeply dreading.
It brings me to tears that we in fact brought them joy instead.
God works in mysterious ways and it was an absolute honor to be used by him.

Here are just a few of the daily pics we sent in our group thread and a few screen shots of our beaming hearts through it all.
