“Love Every Moment” ~Dolly

I love that the kids get Fall break! It is such a beautiful time of year to be off! This year we took ourselves to the mountains where every shade of fall & rollercoasters were calling! Dollywood is a place we have never been! It was so exciting to be able to ride any ride with all the kids! What an unforgettable few days with our family in a little cabin in the mountains! The kids always love the simplest of things. They thought a hot tub & pool table was the greatest! Just a great little place to relax in between our trips to Dollywood! I immediately fell in love with the music playing at Dollywood. It was like church hymns & country mixed together. I felt like we were tucked away in this secret place. It’s mountains and colors of fall everywhere & behind all those trees is this little park surrounded by it all. I felt like every ride I would say, “Look at the trees! Look at the colors!” I just couldn’t help myself, they were so beautiful! It’s been quite some time since riding a rollercoaster & I must admit I prayed a lot on these rides. It was an unspeakable rush of excitement & all you could do was scream! I loved so much hearing my family, myself included laughing & screaming from such fun. We even went back at night to see the Glowing decorations & it was just gorgeous!

Jensie has always loved Dolly. I think she was quite young when we watched her little Christmas movie”The Coat of Many Colors” & she would go around with a thick accent talking like that little girl that played Dolly & would quote the movie constantly. It was so hilarious! She is one kid that wanted to go to Dollywood for more than just rides. It was neat looking at Dolly’s pink bus, her childhood home & all kinds of neat things from old times. The schoolhouse was precious! The chapel in Dollywood actually has services & just gorgeous! I loved the many quilts on the wall with the stitchings of each bible story in the squares. So amazing!

Dollywood has a piece of my heart there for sure & I hope to go back again someday. I don’t think kids understand how much parents love this irreplaceable time with memories being made & that we are soaking up these moments, even the smallest ones. ❤️ They are all growing up so very fast &  every post I write has so many feelings behind it when I look back at our family & their faces. I can just thank God over & over for His blessings.

My Hometown Football Homecoming

I don’t know if I would have ever predicted our kids living in our hometown & experiencing the small town feels of a Homecoming Parade with class floats & all the cars & candy throwing… & for our Emmie to be one of them smiling & waving to us all. She was elected the Freshman Homecoming Attendant & escorted by a sweet friend from church who is actually homeschooled but gets to play basketball for our school. What great looking kids! They all seemed to enjoy their night & I know it had to mean a lot to Emmie to be chosen for this. She was pretty estatic & surprised with all the feels. I was overjoyed for her & loved taking in the moments of dress shopping & all the details. Nothing like having to find a convertible & not really knowing anyone to take the time to give to this special night. One of my childhood friends since kindergarten told me of this kind man to call. He didn’t even hesitate & said it was his pleasure. He is a car collector & showed up in his 2020 Corvette. So cool!

Homecoming wouldn’t be Homecoming without “The Game”… in which Noah is a senior playing his last games. Yes… all the feels again for this Mama!!!! It was so special to have so many of our family there!!! Didn’t get a picture of  everyone but gosh it was so special. These kids are growing up so fast! It’s like one big parade & I just want it to keep going & never end! I love these times! The times we will always talk about…of our Hometown. ❤️
