💗Mothers Day💗
A time to honor the one who gave us life. This year we feel extra grateful to be able to pop over for a visit or throw a last minute impromptu supper “with our mothers”! I loved the sweet homemade cards from my kids & sweet sentiments from my husband. It’s nice to feel appreciated. My 1st Tennessee Mother’s Day overlooking a sky painted with God’s finger. With our Tennessee Farmhouse being built right behind me & a table set with wildflowers the kiddos picked. Some days of being a mother are truly picture perfect! 💗
But I have to be honest here...the next morning as I stood over the sink full of dirty dishes & all the things to tend to day in & day out... of quarantine & online school😌, I tried really hard to not let my chores determine my mood. I tried really hard to think about the things my kids wrote on my cards (just one day before😬), “we appreciate all the things you do for us”, being one of them... I tried to cling to those sweet words and press on in my day. To keep doing all the things my family appreciates & need me for. Some days The calling of motherhood calls louder with lots of static. It wasn’t until I was cleaning the bathroom that “our mothers” were in the forefront of my mind. They never complain or grumble about their calling. They have strength that I still need to be “tweaking in my motherhood recipe”. They have raised a lot of kids & done the day in & day out. I am so proud of them & proud to have them to look to. They inspire me to cling to much more that the calling of motherhood will bring. What a gift it is to have a mother & be a mother.💗
