Happy New Year! Congratulations! Merry Christmas! January started off with a bang! The New Years kiss & then
a Wedding!!! Nothing like bringing in a new year celebrating LOVE & the unity of marriage of our firstborn nephew! I will never forget driving from college with Nathan to Nashville to hold him when he was born! Now he is old enough to get married!!! How can we possibly be getting older? It happens. It happens before you realize it & there aren’t any more babies around & kids tie their own shoes & do stuff for themselves. Then they have phones & girlfriends & a New Years kiss that ain’t for Mama & Daddy. This is part of life I know. But as I watched my nephew get tears in his eyes watching his lovely bride coming towards him, I just couldn’t hold it in any longer. Life is such a beautiful thing! I am overjoyed for them but sitting right behind my sister-in-law... mother of the groom....her hair so perfectly fixed in a classy bun.... I felt mixed feelings while watching a mother’s strength staring at her firstborn son standing in front to state his vows & profess his love for his chosen one. I know this is how it goes but I felt my heart hurting inside for the day that I am sitting there with the put together bun instead of using my hair to wipe my tears. So many emotions for all! Most of all is happiness for the two that found one another & the family that surrounds them that represents all things LOVE. What a Gift!
And now... finally.... we celebrate Christmas & New Years with MeeMaw & more family! I love the smiles & personalities we get to take in with my sweet niece & nephew. A sweet visit from my sis & brother-in-law that we just don’t get enough of... but we cherish the time we get. Life is busy & kids have activities & toddlers have too much fun!!!! I am just so happy to get to see them more than twice a year!!!! The kids love love having cousins all around!
My sis always has the funnest gifts & this year hers to me surprised me for sure! A beautiful antique milk can that I have certainly wanted but been waiting for that perfect one to pop up.... Well it sure did pop up! Wrapped all up in Christmas wrapping & she went and put Orange Valley Ranch on it! Ohhh I love it! So sweet! Always thought I would put it on my porch but it’s just so pretty I want it on the fireplace for now. Love all our pictures & times together! Always makes us yearn for the next one!
