The Great Smoky Mountains In Gatlinburg, Tennessee

The Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, Tennessee....
Where every hour of the journey, we had to stop & pee.
(Nathan made me write that)
We packed our bags & every camping accessory,
To go be with our family & make special memories.
We all tubed together in the rushing & freezing creek,
Where you could hear all the laughs & Mama’s shrieks!
We cooked Hobo Soup & ate it out of the cans,
I wonder if Overs (in Heaven) knew we used her pan?
Sittin around the campfire with cousins we adore,
Everyone talkin & roastin lots of s’mores.
We took walks & saw old homes from people long ago,
Even saw two bears that put on a show!
A big hike up the mountain to see the waterfall,
Where the kids played in the water & had a ball!
Plenty of glow sticks for our last night of fun,
One more day & our mountain time would be done.
A quick day back at Nonna & Papa’s for a little rest,
First time of campin in the Smokies was simply the BEST!!!
We feel so blessed & thankful for our family to love,
A gift on this earth that can only be from God above.
Lots of love & new memories to keep in our hearts,
It’s a kind of love that sticks even though we are apart.
As we make our way back to our Texas home,
I keep thinkin of me & my hubby ridin around the Tennessee land to see if we can let our hearts roam.
The closeness of family, the rollin hills of trees
for acres & acres to see....
Wonderin if this is where we are one day meant to be?
Do we swing on the bridge & take a leap,
These moments & thoughts for now,
In our hearts we will have to keep.
