Tennessee Giggles....”Who Ate The Last Zebra Cake?”

When it’s Summer time.... it’s TENNESSEE TIME!
 First stop... MEEMAW’S HOUSE!!!
We are always so excited to come visit! I love coming in the Summer cause everything is so green & beautiful! There is something about coming to your childhood home... it was perfect for our little family of 4 growing up, but when we visit... we choose to stay there & cram 11 people in it. We make pallets, blow up air mattresses, make up the couch & loveseat, play musical beds... we sleep just fine! We just wouldn’t have it any other way! It’s cozy & always something going on with someone or something. There is always a ping pong game going on or a movie with popcorn! Lots of door slammin from kids coming in and out and in and out getting their 13th popsicle! There is always a hose runnin for a slip n slide or a waterslide! The rain storms pop up & surprise us with their sudden arrivals & down pours for kids to play in! The kitchen is always hot with a fan blowing in your face. There are cousins playing house & school & taking walks to the woods. Lots of “Mama”, “Daddy”, “MeeMaw” being shouted & we all hushin ‘em up cause the baby is sleepin. Yummy food always been made, drinks a stirrin & plenty of kitchen gabbin. A baby on a hip, or nestled up for a nap... preferabley on her Aunt Angie!!! There can’t be a bedtime cause you have to catch the lightening bugs & have some ice cream. I love sitting on the patio or the porch swing & look at the trees in awe of how big they are! Perfect place for a pic! Something about the weepin willow planted when Daddy died that calls to me when I get there. A beautiful place for sweet baby Coralie to wear a vintage dress me & my sis wore as babies & get some gorgeous photos made.

I love looking back at all the pictures that show LIFE & LOVED ONES! It makes me feel so grateful God gave us each other on purpose to be a FAMILY! How I wish Daddy could see us now! How if he were here, his little family of 4 would have turned into a family of 12. His spirit is always with us. As wonderful as all these moments of love & laughter that are made here in this beautiful little place of country stillness.... there seem to never be enough hugs & kisses where there won’t be any missin.
And Lastly....
There are never enough moments of MeeMaw doubled over laughing at the big Mystery of where all the Little Debbie Zebra Cakes went? Who ate them? She has her lips tightly together as she laughs uncontrollably trying not to bust, not to give in to the secret she is obviously a part of!
Everyone wants to know, but no one will say...
Sworn to secrecy, MeeMaw may not ever tell....
