What a crazy time we are living in!!!!! 2020! MASKS!? Social distancing! Learning virtually! Hybrid! Quarantine! Corona! These are words that are the new norm...This whole year could be one big Math Science History Economics Homemaking Unit for them to learn about at school! God bless the teachers! I think God must have added an extra layer of blessings to all the heavenly homes of these angels! I know there has to be great reward! For so many really.... all medical people and many have altered their jobs & life to help others through this crazy pandemic! We all just keep saying we will be glad when it’s over!!!!! When things go “Back to Normal”? Will they? So many questions!
The new school year is here. Well... it’s actually been here... but it started in all sorts of ways. π€ͺ We have one going everyday & the others virtual 3 days & in person 2 days.. but first... one was quarantined for 2 weeks b/c of exposure. I’m sorry, can you repeat that? Oh Heavens...π² For school, I like a plan, some structure, notes in the lunchboxes, with some snow days mixed in. π This has felt a little too “masky” for me & let’s be honest... it has been one of life’s “messes” for many of us... to get all this stuff straight so our children can be secure & successful at their new way of learning that we have never before experienced. I have to remind myself... Take a breath. One day at a time. I was also reminded today in a devo in Deuteronomy 2:2-3. The Israelites & their 40 years of wandering. The Lord let them know it was time to head a new direction. “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north.”
This circling of these months & months of a pandemic have just caused many to lose hope. I have certainly felt lost & stuck in this mess at times. I read about letting our “messes” in life DEFINE or REDEFINE us. Letting them Define us we feel Hopeless. π Letting them Redefine us we feel Hopeful. ☺️ It’s time to “turn north” & embrace the direction of the Lord. π§ ππ» Move to His promises & cling to the hope He has planted in our hearts. π·These messages always speak to me so I share because if I am continually encouraged by them, maybe you will be too. π¦ God even told us in 2 Corinthians “there is power in our weakness & when we are weak we are strong”. I feel stronger just reading this.
I can say one thing for sure... the kids have certainly had it good to be learning from home & be out in the country. Emmie enjoys getting to take care of her animals during her breaks! Gunner loves to come get “another snack” & Noah likes to shoot his gun or work out. Jensie loves school and was happy to get to go everyday. It still makes it a whirlwind for parents working from home to have structure and things to run smooth. It’s hard to get things done when you have to be home to help and answer questions. But all this I know is meant for this time & we are to live it & do it! We will take the first day pictures and we will log in to school. We will cross our fingers our football season gets to be played out!!!
