Emmie's 2nd year at the Junior Livestock Show. These times are so sweet! All the prep to get ready to enter in her goodies. This year she entered in cake decorating and won 5th place. She also entered a photography piece of the sunrise titled, "It Looks Like God Is Eating Cotton Candy"... and won 5th place. She entered in her rabbit. She got 1st place for best of breed. She also did showmanship and had a blast being there! The sweet couple that gave the bunny Shadow to Emmie came to support her. So sweet!!! We are so proud she loves animals and 4-H. It is so fun to watch her be in her "sweet spot"... where she is comfortable and doing what she loves. She is so happy to be at the big barn with all the animals and would stay the night if she could. She talks to everyone about bunnies and goats and chickens and all things 4H. She doesn't mind the smell. She doesn't mind the slow. It's her perfect kind of place. I notice a sense of simple with all the people that are there. Nobody is yelling at their kids for how they are doing in the game... or yelling at coaches or refs. The parents are there to watch, support their children. It is truly beautiful. Some of the girls Emmie has met and mothers I have met really bring it home for us in that we are doing exactly what we need to be doing for our sweet Emmie Lou. I know she is going to have so many memories from these times. Until next year.... we will continue taking care of the bunny farm. :)
